Sunday NHL action features a matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Dallas Stars.
The Vancouver Canucks need a dramatic turnaround and a hot streak that spans the second half in order to sniff the postseason. Vancouver is in the midst of a four game skid following a 4-1 defeat at the Carolina Hurricanes where Michael Del Zotto scored the lone goal in the second period.

The Hurricanes scored three times in the opening period with Brett Pesce, Phillipe Di Giuseppe and Sebastian Aho lighting the lamp with Justin Williams scoring in the third. Scott Darling picked up the win for Carolina with 21 saves while Jacob Markstrom gave up all four goals on 33 shots.
The Dallas Stars are looking to climb from 4th in the Central standings and the team is doing their part with five straight wins after a 4-3, SO victory versus Pittsburgh. The Penguins received scoring from Riley Sheahan, Carl Hagelin and Justin Schulz while Matt Murrray gave up three goals on 36 shots.
Tyler Seguin, John Klingberg and Dan Hamhuis all found the back of the net in regulation with Seguin scoring the only goal of the shootout. Jamie Benn added three helpers and Kari Lehtonen recorded 34 saves to secure the two points for Dallas.
Over is 4-0 in Canucks last 4 vs. a team with a winning record and under is 5-1 in Canucks last 6 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 days situation and Canucks are 1-5 in their last 6 games following a loss of 3 or more goals. Stars are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win and Stars are 5-0 in their last 5 overall and under is 4-0-1 in Stars last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. Canucks are 0-7 in the last 7 meetings in Dallas and Canucks are 5-16 in the last 21 meetings and under is 17-7-3 in the last 27 meetings in Dallas.
I’m not sure I want to step in front of the Dallas train right now so I’ll back them in some form…
