The Line: Vegas Golden Knights / Calgary Flames --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Calgary Flames look to stay red hot on the road as they head into Sin City to face off with the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night.
The Flames look to find their ninth win away from home in their last 12 tries but they have their work cut out for them against the Golden Knights in this one as the expansion side has the best home record in the league and is continuing their pursuit of their first ever Pacific division title. Calgary meanwhile has struggled mightily in the middle of the week as they are 1-5 in their last six Wednesday games and are a dismal 1-8 in their last nine when their opponent scores two or fewer in their previous outing which fits the bill here as the Knights were shut down by the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night. Calgary is expected to turn to David Rittich here as he continues to fill in for the injured Mike Smith as he will face off against Marc-Andre Fleury who gives the Knights a big edge in goal which will likely play a big factor in the outcome of the final score.

The Knights are coming off one of their more sluggish efforts of the season as the Ducks netted a huge road win but expect the Knights to rebound here as they host a Flames side who has been playing well on the road of late but has struggled against division foes. Las Vegas has been a very funny team this season as nobody expected them to run through the league at such a successful clip and the playoffs and a divisional crown were an afterthought in October but they have come back to Earth a little bit of late and sorting out which team they are come playoff time is going to be quite difficult.
The Flames are 8-3 in their last 11 road games and are 1-6 in their last seven after alloing two or fewer in their previous game while the Golden Knights are 24-10 in their last 34 overall and 14-3 in their 17 against the Pacific division. Calgary is a good team and to me they are better than the Knights but this just looks like a bad spot for them as Vegas adds to their impressive home resume.
