The Anaheim Ducks look to close the gap in the Pacific division as they head into Nashville to take on the Predators on Thursday night.
The Ducks head into the Music City as winners of three games in a row and are 7-3 in their last 10 games overall and with a victory on Thursday they would certainly make a statement to the rest of the league that they are a team to be reckoned with come playoff time. Anaheim has found most of their success at home this season but they are still a decent road team but are going to need one of their best efforts of the season as they take on a Predators team who is on an absolute tear as winners of nine games in a row and sitting 15 points ahead of the Ducks in the standings. Anaheim is expected to turn to John Gibson in goal in this one as he faces off against Pekka Rinne who has established himself and his team as one of the very best in the NHL this season.

The Predators are the hottest team in the NHL right now and are certainly looking capable of getting back to the Cup final this season with revenge on their mind. Nashville has always been a very sound defensive team and pride themselves on their play in the defensive third but this season they have done a much better job in the offensive zone and can beat teams in a number of different ways which is a huge plus for them as they approach the playoffs and a big reason why they have ripped off nine games in a row. The Preds are 8-1 in their last nine games following a win and have 19 wins in their last 26 contests against a team with a winning record and while the Ducks do match up well here it might be tough to fade the Preds until they actually give us a reason to.
The Ducks are 7-2 in their last nine overall and 6-0 in their last six on one day’s rest while the Preds are 5-1 in their last six at home against the Ducks are 5-2 in their last seven Thursday games. Anaheim is a good team that will create waves in the playoffs but tonight is not their not as the Preds get number 10.
