Monday night NHL action pits the St. Louis Blues against the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center.
The St. Louis Blues have won twice in a month which has taken the team from playoff contender to next to last in the Central. The Blues broke out of their slump with a 7-2 victory at Los Angeles where Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown scored for the Kings with Jonathan Quick allowing four goals on 29 shots before Jack Campbell stopped 11-14 shots in relief.

The balanced offense of the Blues featured seven different goal scorers with Robert Bortuzzo, Colton Parayko, Alex Pietangelo, Ivan Barbashev, Vladimir Tarasenko, Kyle Brodziak and Jaden Schwartz all lighting the lamp. Anze Kopitar added a pair of helpers for St. Louis with Jake Allen recorded 38 saves to pick up the win.
The Anaheim Ducks have slowly rebounded from a slow start to put themselves in solid playoff position as the number three team in the Pacific. Anaheim looks to get back in the win column after suffering their second loss in a row by a 2-1 count at the Dallas Stars on Friday.
The Ducks opened the scoring at 17:16 of the first period off the stick of Ryan Getzlaf. The Stars received the equalizer on a Devin Shore power play tally at 8:50 of the third while Jamie Benn scored the winner at 14:53. Tyler Seguin posted two assists and Kari Lehtnonen picked up the win with 26 saves while Ryan Miller took the loss for Anaheim with 35 saves.
Under is 4-0 in Blues last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and Blues are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blues are 1-8 in their last 9 vs. Western Conference. Under is 4-0 in Ducks last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and under is 6-1 in Ducks last 7 vs. a team with a winning record and under is 6-1 in Ducks last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Blues are 5-21-1 in the last 27 meetings in Anaheim and under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and home team is 38-13-1 in the last 52 meetings.
The question is whether St. Louis can build on their big win and I don’t know the answer…
