The Vegas Golden Knights visit the Wells Fargo Center to take the ice with the Philadelphia Flyers in a Monday NHL tilt.
Many still believe that the Vegas Golden Knights are still primed for a downfall but the team is still atop the Pacific. Vegas has won three of four following a 2-1 shootout victory at the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday where the defense stole the show.

The Sabres took a 1-0 lead at 2:47 of the third period on a Justin Bailey goal before the Golden Knights scored the equalizer off the stick of Deryk Engellund at 15:46. David Perron and Erik Haula scored in the shootout and Marc-Andre Fleury picked up the win with 31 saves while Robin Lehner recorded stopped 33 shots in defeat.
The Philadelphia Flyers were one of the hottest teams in the NHL a few short weeks ago with an opportunity to take over first in the Metropolitan. Philadelphia had dropped five straight before ending their drought with a 2-1 victory versus the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
The Flyers took a 2-0 lead in the second period on goals just 81 seconds apart. Claude Giroux opened the scoring at 5:40 with Andrew McDonald doubling the lead at 801. Patrik Laine’s power play tally with just under nine minutes got the Jets within striking distance but neither offense could do anything in the final 12 minutes. Connor Hellebuyck took the loss despite 33 saves while Petr Mrazek made 27 stops to get the win.
Over is 4-0 in Golden Knights last 4 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days situation and over is 4-0 in Golden Knights last 4 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 days situation and under is 5-0 in Golden Knights last 5 road games. Flyers are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference and Flyers are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Pacific and Flyers are 1-5 in their last 6 overall.
Vegas has been winning and Philadelphia hasn’t been but I’m taking a small shot at the home dog pending goalies…
