The Ottawa Senators look to complete the Florida sweep as they head into Tampa Bay to face the Lightning after defeating the Panthers last night.
The Senators have had a very tough season and have fallen well short of expectations considering they were one of a short list of teams considered to be a Cup favourite at the beginning of the year, and at this rate it would be a shock to see them finish with a winning record. Ottawa has had a tumultuous season off the ice as well with some of their biggest players rumoured to be on the move and ownership threatening to relocate and while that is far from over and changes are on the horizon it hasn’t excused the fact that they haven’t performed on the ice and with the Lightning on tap on Tuesday it should give us one of the most lopsided lines of the season.

The Lightning meanwhile were also on the short list of Cup contenders at the beginning of the season but unlike the Senators they have met and exceeded expectations this season and are looking like a very dangerous team with the playoffs just around the corner. Tampa has so much depth across the board and some of the league’s most talented players at all positions on the ice and while they have battled some down time during the last few weeks they are still very much a contender in the East and should be treated as such in the final month of the season. Tampa is 25-10 in their last 35 games against Atlantic division foes and with Ottawa coming off a win last night it puts the Bolts in a great position to extend that trend in this spot on Tuesday night.
The Sens are 1-9 in their last 10 Tuesday games and 1-6 in their last seven against the Atlantic while the Bolts ate 9-3 in their last 12 Tuesday games and 4-1 in their last five against the Senators. Tampa should have no issue here and the regulation bet is the probably the best play.
