NHL comes to KeyBank Center here the Buffalo Sabres host the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.
The slumping Detroit Red Wings have a rare opportunity for back to back wins following a 5-2 victory versus Pittsburgh on Tuesday. The dangerous Penguins offense saw Sydney Crosby and Kris Letang score while MattMurray was charged with four goals on 25 shots.

The Red Wings received a pair of goals from Luke Glendening with Niklas Kronwall, Frans Nielsen and Darren Helm also reaching the scoring column. Helm and Dylan Larkin also added two helpers each to make Jimmy Howard’s 22 saves a winning effort.
The Buffalo Sabres have not enjoyed a banner year so stringing a few wins together has not happened often. Buffalo snapped a four game slide with a 3-2 victory at Toronto on Monday where Nazem Kadri and Patrick Marleau scored second period goals for the leafs.
Jack Eichel gave the Sabres a 1-0 lead in the first and scored the game winner in the third period with Casey Nelson also scoring in the third. Zemgus Girgensons gave Buffalo a pair of helpers and Chad Johnson stopped 39 shots to get the win while Frederik Andersen stopped 24 shots for Toronto.
Red Wings are 0-5 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 5-0 in Red Wings last 5 Thursday games and over is 3-0-1 in Red Wings last 4 road games. Under is 4-0-1 in Sabres last 5 overall and Sabres are 1-8 in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and under is 7-1 in Sabres last 8 vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Buffalo and under is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and Red Wings are 11-4 in the last 15 meetings in Buffalo.
I have to believe there are better betting opportunities then this one with nothing at stake between two struggling teams…
