The Washington Capitols battle the Pittsburgh Penguins in game six of their NHL playoff series at PPG Paints Arena.
The Pittsburgh Penguins blew a 3-2 lead on the way to a 6-3 loss at Washington on Saturday and now face elimination with the Capitols holding a 3-2 series edge. Pittsburgh is hoping to send the series to a game seven and keep their dreams of a third straight Stanley Cup championship alive.

James Oleksiak gave the Penguins a 1-0 advantage in the first with Sydney Crosby and Patric Hornqvist scoring in the second for a 3-2 lead heading to the third. Justin Schultz and Phil Kessel each posted a pair of helpers but Matt Murray gave up four goals on 26 shots for the Pens.
The Capitols are one game from exorcizing their demons after a four goal third period negated a 3-2 deficit. John Carlson and Brett Connolly gave Washington a 2-1 lead after one before the third period explosion.
Evgeny Kuznetsov scored the equalizer and Jakub Vrana gave the Caps the lead at 4-3 before TJ Oshie and Kars Eller both hit the empty net. Kuznetsov and Vrana both added a pair of helpers for Washington while Braden Holtby recorded 36 saves.
Capitals are 9-1 in their last 10 road games and Capitals are 8-1 in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and over is 8-2-1 in Capitals last 11 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. Over is 3-0-1 in Penguins last 4 following a loss of 3 or more goals and under is 6-1-1 in Penguins last 8 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game and over is 9-2 in Penguins last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and Capitals are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings in Pittsburgh.
I am leaning over here with the Penguins needing to come out fast while the empty net will be there as well if either team is behind late…
