The Winnipeg Jets look to book their ticket to the Western Conference final as they host the Nashville Predators on Monday night.
The Predators have their backs against the wall as they head into hostile territory as they face off against the Jets in Winnipeg with their season on the line and hopes of getting back to the Stanley Cup final. Nashville has given the Jets a heck of a series as two of the league’s top teams have been on full display but with two wins in three tries for the Jets in Nashville it has sent the Preds to a do or die situation on Monday against arguably the best home ice team in the NHL. Pekka Rinne is going to have to be huge in this spot if the Preds are going to keep this series alive and send the series back to Nashville for a deciding game seven, and while he hasn’t been the greatest in these playoffs he is certainly capable of stealing a game and that is exactly what he must do on Monday against Connor Hellebuyck in a show down of Vezina Trophy candidates.

The Jets meanwhile are flying high after a convincing win in Nashville in game five and can book their spot into the West finals against the Vegas Golden Knights if they can outlast the Predators in what should be an exciting contest in Winnipeg on Monday. The Jets offense has been on full display in this series and they will look for another outburst led by Mark Schielefe and with the way that Dustin Byfuglien has been playing in these playoffs and the capability of Hellebuyck to match Rinne shot for shot has Winnipeg on the verge of advancing into the NHL’s final four. The Jets are a staggering 42-10 in their last 52 home games but they split their two games in Winnipeg in this series so far and will need a strong effort here against a desperate Predators team who are 14-5 in their last 19 road games.
The Predators are 22-5 in their last 27 Monday games and 36-17 in their last 53 overall while the Jets are 11-4 in their last 15 against the Central and 5-2 in their last seven Monday games. This is going to be closer than the line indicates but with Winnipeg’s offense firing right now look for them to book their ticket to the Western Conference final.
