The Chicago Blackhawks and the Minnesota Wild meet in NHL action from Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks will look to add to their point streak to start the year which sits at 3 games with a 2-0-1 record after a 7-6 overtime loss to Toronto in their last outing. The Hawks took a 2-0 lead early on and it was back and forth with goals from Jonathan Toews, Alex DeBrincat, John Hayden and Brandon Manning before Patrick Kane became the first player in NHL history with two game-tying goals in the last two minutes, scoring 55 seconds apart in the waning moments of the 3rd period before Toronto got the extra point in OT. Cam Ward took the loss after allowing all 7 goals on 34 shots to fall to 2-0-1 this season.

Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks - 10/11/18 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Wild will be looking for their first win of the season after falling to 0-1-1 with a 2-1 shootout loss to the Golden Knights in their last outing. Matt Dumba gave the Wild the lead in the 1st period and the Wild almost left with the win but Vegas struck back late in the 3rd and the Wild were unable to find the back of the net in the shootout, leading to the defeat and a single point for Minnesota. Devan Dubnyk took the loss to fall to 0-1-1 this season after allowing just one goal on 42 shots in addition to the shootout winner.

Chicago is 5-13 in their last 18 road games and 11-24 in their last 35 games overall while the over is 10-4-1 in their last 15 games against the Western conference. Minnesota is 0-4 in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 games against the Western conference while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 home games. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

Minnesota is due for a win after coming so close to their first against Vegas last time out, but as far as Thursday’s game goes, we are getting the team that’s had more luck so far and has scored at least 4 goals in each of their first 3 games at plus money with Chicago, against Minnesota who have only scored two goals so far in their first two games. I know it’s early so we can’t overreact to stats like that, but I’m all about taking the value so I’ll pounce on Chicago as a live dog on Thursday night.
