The Vegas Golden Knights loo for their first home win of the season and are fresh off a rough five-game road trip. The Vegas Golden Knights are averaging 1.7 goals per game and are scoring on zero percent of their power play opportunities. Jonathan Marchessault leads Vegas with two goals, William Karlsson has four assists and Cody Eakin has four shots on goal. Defensively, the Vegas Golden Knights are allowing 3.2 goals per game and are killing 73.3 percent of their opponents power plays. Marc-Andre Fleury has given up 14 goals on 117 shots faced and Malcolm Subban has allowed four goals on 31 shots. The Vegas Golden Knights have allowed four or more goals in four of their first six games.
The Sabres are 14-39 in their last 53 games following a win, 61-137 in their last 198 road games and 29-64 in their last 93 overall. The Golden Knights are 36-16 in their last 52 home games, 1-8 in their last 9 vs. Eastern Conference and 2-8 in their last 10 overall. The over is 7-2 in Golden Knights last 9 home games and the over is 8-3 in Sabres last 11 overall.
The Vegas Golden Knights are clearly going through either a finals hangover or a sophomore slump, as the defense is swiss cheese at the moment and the offensive hasn't had a chance to sink its teeth into any game this season. The way we were blindly backing Vegas last year, you should be careful until this team turns it around. With that said, the Buffalo Sabres have been a really good fade team on the road over the years and despite their decent start to the season, they have defensive issues of their own. The price isn't great for a team that's lost four of its six tries, but at home, this is a spot where the Golden Knights should bounce back.
