The Nashville Predators look to stay perfect on the road as they head into New Jersey to face off with a Devils side that is an impressive 4-1 at home so far this season.

The Predators have taken the league by storm so far this season with an impressive 7-2 record through their first 9 games but it should come as no surprise as they were a period away from the Western Conference final a season ago. Nashville has built one of the best rosters in the NHL over the last few seasons and they certainly have one of the league’s best defenses and with both Pekka Rinne and Jusi Saros playing well between the pipes the Preds will remain one of the faovurites to win the Cup this season. Saros is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Keith Kinkaid who has taken over as the interim starter in New Jersey as Corey Schneider continues to rehab from injury.

The Devils meanwhile surprised a lot of people with how well they played last season but they won’t be taken lightly by anyone this season as they look to get back into the postseason this year. The Devils are led by former Oilers forward Taylor Hall who is coming off a Hart Trophy effort last year as he was far and away the team’s leading point producer and if the Devils can give him some kind of secondary scoring this season they will be a tough out in the Metropolitan division. New Jersey is 8-2 in their last 10 home games but they seem to hit a rut when playing on Thursday nights as they are 10-28 in their last 38 games and will face a stiff test here against the Predators.

Nashville is 5-0 in their last 5 games against the Metro and are 22-7 in their last 29 road games while the Devils are 2-6 in their last 8 against the Central and 4-1 in their last 5 home games against a team with a road winning percentage over .600. Nashville is a slight road favourite here and while New Jersey is a strong team they don’t have the depth to match up with one of the league’s best.
