The Edmonton Oilers and the Nashville Predators meet in NHL action from Bridgestone Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Edmonton Oilers will look for a big road win after taking down Washington at home by a final score of 4-1 in their last outing. Evan Bouchard opened up the scoring with his first career goal and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins doubled the advantage halfway through the 2nd period before Andre Burakovsky cut that deficit in half again for the Caps. In the 3rd, Alex Chiasson scored against his former team and Connor McDavid added an empty netter to secure the win for the Oilers. Cam Talbot got the win to improve his mark to 4-3-1 this season after stopping 31 of 32 shots in the winning effort.

Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators will look to continue their hot start after winning 8 of their first 10 games following a 4-3 come from behind win over New Jersey in their last outing. Yannick Weber tied the game for the Preds in the 1st, but still fell behind 2-1 after 20 minutes before Viktor Arvidsson tied the game again, but that tie would last all of :40 before Nashville fell behind again. Filip Forsberg tied the game one more time for the Predators in the 3rd, and it stayed that way until the latter stages of overtime, before Kyle Turris potted the game-winner with just over a minute to play in the extra frame. Juuse Saros got the win to improve to 5-1-0 this season after stopping 33 of 36 shots in the victory.

Edmonton is 2-5 in their last 7 road games and 4-10 in their last 14 games against the Central division while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. Nashville is 45-20 in their last 65 games overall and 19-7 in their last 26 games against the Pacific division while the over is 10-4-1 in their last 15 home games. Edmonton is 16-35-1 in the last 52 meetings between these two teams and 5-17 in the last 22 meetings between these two teams in Nashville.

Nashville hasn’t confirmed a starting goalie coming into this game, but for me it doesn’t matter, I’m still going Predators here. The Oilers are starting Mikko Koskinen who will b making his NHL regular season debut, going up against arguably the hottest team in the league in Nashville who have won 12 straight against Edmonton and 17 of the last 22 at Bridgestone Arena. If Pekka Rinne can go, he’s won 11 straight against Edmonton, and has 20 wins in 30 career games against the Oilers. If not, Saros has been playing extremely well in his own right winning his last four starts, including a 3-0 shutout win against these same Oilers on the road last Saturday, so either way you have to like the Predators’ chances in this one.
