The Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Saturday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks will look to build on back-to-back victories, including a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers in their last outing. Jonathan Toews opened the scoring for the Hawks just 2:55 into the opening frame, but the lead would barely last as the Rangers tied the game just 1:14 later. Alexandre Fortin scored in the 2nd and Patrick Kane added an insurance goal in the 3rd before Anthony DeBrincat added an empty netter to lock up the W for Chicago. Corey Crawford got the win to improve to 3-1-0 this season after stopping 18 of 19 shots faced in the winning effort.

St. Louis Blues vs. Chicago Blackhawks - 10/27/18 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

The St. Louis Blues will look for a big win after losing 5 of their last 6 games, including a 7-4 loss to Columbus in their last outing. Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz gave the Blues an early 2-0 lead that was cut in half by the end of the 1st, but Columbus would strike 3 more times in the first 9 minutes of the second period before Alexander Steen brought the deficit back to one goal. Columbus added 3 more goals before Zach Sanford chipped in a consolation marker but it was too little too late. Jake Allen was chased from goal after allowing 4 goals on 21 shots, but Chad Johnson would take the loss to fall to 0-2-0 this season after allowing 3 goals on 11 shots in the 3rd period.

Chicago is 6-14 in their last 20 road games and 5-0 in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. St. Louis is 1-6 in their last 7 home games and 1-5 in their last 6 games overall while the over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games against the Western Conference. The road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

The Blues continue to be shaky and even the head coach has said his job should be on the line after this disappointing start to the year. Sometimes that lights a fire under the team, and playing at home could help St. Louis. The issue is that home ice hasn’t mattered in this matchup dating back to last year, as the road team has won 4 of the last 5 meetings. The Blackhawks are also playing the much better hockey of the two and are back to looking like one of the league’s best, even though it’s still very early in the season. I’ll side with the Blackhawks here to add to St. Louis’ misery and doing it at plus money sounds even better.
