The New Jersey Devils and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet in NHL action from Amalie Arena on Tuesday night.
The New Jersey Devils will look to build on a 3-2 win over Florida in their last outing that propelled the Devils to 5-2-1 this season. Kyle Palmieri opened the scoring for New Jersey, and Taylor Hall and Blake Coleman helped give the Devils a 3-0 advantage at the end of 40 minutes, and the game would stay that way for most of the 3rd but the Panthers made it interesting with a pair of goals in the final 5 minutes, but ultimately the Devils would slam the door shut and take home the points. Keith Kinkaid picked up the win after stopping 35 of the 37 shots he faced to improve his record to 5-2-1 this season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking to bounce back from having their 7 game point streak snapped with a 7-1 loss to Arizona in their last outing. Arizona went up 3-0 after the 1st period and 5-0 after 40 minutes and eventually up 6-0 before the Bolts would get on the board thanks to a power play goal from Adam Erne. Louis Domingue would end up with his first loss of the season after allowing all 7 goals on 30 shots in the losing effort.
New Jersey is 0-5 in their last 5 road games and 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay is 41-17 in their last 58 home games and 5-2 in their last 7 games against the Metropolitan division while the under is 6-1-2 in their last 9 games against the Eastern Conference. New Jersey is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and 1-7 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams in New Jersey.
The Devils and the plus money are going to be worth a look after their decent start to the season, but they’ve had little success against the Lightning dating back to last season and even less success playing the Lightning on the road. A win over the Panthers doesn’t do much for me either and while a blowout loss to Arizona isn’t good either, the Lightning have been in better form for most of the season thus far and the home team has dominated this matchup, winning 16 of the last 21 meetings so I’ll lay the juice with the Bolts in this spot.
