The Vancouver Canucks look to continue their dominance against the Colorado Avalanche as the two sides meet up on Friday.

The Avalanche look for a rare road win in Vancouver on Friday night and start their weekend schedule off with a bang as they face off against a Canucks side who has played above expectations so far this season. The Avs have struggled mightily against Pacific division rivals as they are just 11-31 in their last 42 games and while they have one of the league’s best lines in Landeskog, Mackinnon, and Rantanen they are going to need more than that if they’re going to make a push in the Western Conference playoffs. Colorado has also struggled away from home over the last couple of seasons as they are 21-45 in their last 75 road games and face a Canucks side who is 8-3 in their last 11 home games. Phillip Grubauer is expected to get the start as he will face off against Jakob Markstrom.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Colorado Avalanche - 11/2/18 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Canucks have started off strong this season and could very well surprise everybody and land themselves a playoff spot in the Western Conference if they can keep it up. Vancouver was expected to be in a state of transition after Daniel and Henrik Sedin retired but the breakout of rookie sensation Elias Petterson and the young core led by Bo Horvat and Jake Virtanen has the Canucks playing ahead of schedule. Vancouver has absolutely dominated this series of late as they are 26-10 in the last 36 meetings with Colorado and are 12-4 in their last 16 meetings in Vancouver and trends are looking like they will stay that way on Friday.

The Avs are 4-1 in their last 5 Friday games and 30-72 in their last 102 second legs of a double header while Vancouver is 12-4 in their last 16 on one day’s rest and winless in their last 5 Friday games. Vancouver continues to get disrespected and while Colorado has the star power the Canucks are playing well as a team and get it done at home.
