The San Jose Sharks look to extend their success against Western Conference foes as they head into Dallas to face off with the Stars on Thursday night.

The Sharks have compiled one of the best rosters in the NHL and the addition of Erik Karlsson was a huge factor and on Thursday night they can make a statement on the road against a Dallas side who has the talent to go stride for stride with the Sharks. San Jose will have their work cut out for them though as the Stars have been very good at home this season and the Sharks have struggled against teams who play well on home ice as they are 6-17 in their last 23 road games against a team with a winning percentage at home over .600. San Jose is expected to send Martin Jones to the crease as he will face off against Ben Bishop despite the fact that San Jose is playing in the back end of a double header after a show down last night against the Minnesota Wild.

The Stars meanwhile continue to get disrespected by the odds makers and while San Jose is a very good team it is unfathomable to see them as a home dog in this spot considering the depth of talent they have on their roster. Dallas has dominated this series of late as well as they are 4-1 in their last 5 meetings with San Jose overall and have won 4 in a row at home against the Sharks with the over hitting in 19 of their last 27. Dallas will need their offense to be firing as the Sharks possess one of the best blue line groups in the NHL and while goaltender Martin Jones has had his struggles he is still capable of stealing a game as we have seen over the last couple of seasons.

The Sharks are 4-0 in their last 4 games against the Western Conference and 3-7 in their last 10 following a win while Dallas is 6-1 in their last 7 against the West and are 7-2 in their last 9 home games. San Jose is a very good team and we are getting them at a nice price but Dallas is strong as well and at plus money at home they are the play.
