The Minnesota Wild complete a California double header as they face off against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night.

The Wild look to pull even on the road with a victory against the Kings on Thursday night but the Staples Center hasn’t been kind to the Wild of late as they are 1-5 in their last 6 trips to Los Angeles. Minnesota has gone on a tear over the last couple of weeks as they have won 7 of their last 9 games but they haven’t been great away from home over the last couple of seasons and while the Kings are off to a bit of a slow start they look as though they are on the brink of breaking through. Minnesota has beaten up on teams with a losing record as they are 9-3 in their last 12 games and the Kings certainly fit that billing as they are 5-14 in their last 19 overall and have struggled against the league’s elite teams with a 2-8 mark in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record.

The Kings meanwhile are 1-9 in their last 10 games against foes from the Western Conference but they are hoping to catch Minnesota with tired legs coming off a loss on Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks. Los Angeles has the roster to be a playoff contender but so far they haven’t looked the part and they are hoping a visit from the Wild – a team they have dominated in recent meetings – is the medicine they need to get back in the win column. Jack Campbell will continue manning the goaltending duties with Jonathan Quick on the injured reserve and he will face off against Devan Dubnyk in a matchup that favors the Minnesota Wild, at least on paper.

The Wild are 4-11 in their last 15 road games and have gone over in their last 4 road games while the Kings are winless in their last 4 against the Central and have hit the over in 6 of their last 7 with Minnesota. This one figures to be a high scoring affair as history suggests and on Thursday night the score sheet is full.
