The Edmonton Oilers and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Wednesday night.

The Edmonton Oilers come into this game looking to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars in their last outing. Dallas jumped out to a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play, and the score would stay that way through the 2nd period. Dallas scored twice more in the first 7:24 of the 3rd period to jump out to a 3-0 lead before Jujhar Khaira potted Edmonton’s lone goal of the contest. Dallas added another goal late to seal the Oilers’ fate in the losing effort. Mikko Koskinen took the loss, falling to 8-3-1 this season after allowing all 3 goals on 24 shots in the losing effort.

The St. Louis Blues will also be looking for a bounce back performance after falling to Arizona in their last outing by a final score of 6-1. Arizona took a 1-0 lead through the 1st period and jumped out to a 2-0 lead within the opening minute of the 2nd frame. Robert Thomas would score for the Blues just :28 later to cut the deficit in half, but that’s as close as the Blue would get, as Arizona would strike 3 more times in the period and add another goal in the 3rd period to send St. Louis home empty-handed. Chad Johnson would take the loss, falling to 2-6-0 this season after allowing all 6 goals on 44 shots in the defeat.

Edmonton is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and 2-6 in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the Western Conference. St. Louis is 2-6 in their last 8 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Pacific division. Edmonton is 8-21 in the last 29 meetings between these two teams and 3-11 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams in St. Louis.

St. Louis probably shouldn’t be favored against anybody right now, and you could argue that Edmonton should be a slight favorite, even on the road. However, Connor McDavid is questionable for the Oilers, and even so, Edmonton has had barely any success against St. Louis for a few years now, especially on the road so I’ll side with St. Louis to get the win at home here.
