The St. Louis Blues look to shake off their road rust as they head into Winnipeg to battle the Jets who are one of the league’s top teams.
The Blues head into Winnipeg looking for just their 2nd road win in their last 6 tries and 4th overall this season but they will be in tough against a Jets side who is loaded across the board and is looking like a serious threat to win the Cup this season. St. Louis has been a perennial playoff contender in the Western Conference over the last decade but they have never been able to break through and have yet to win a championship despite many opportunities and this season it looks even less likely as they may not even qualify for the postseason at all. St. Louis is 2-6 in their last 8 games against the Western Conference and are 8-22 in their last 30 against teams in the Central division and things don’t get any easier on Friday night.

The Jets meanwhile were the final Western Conference victim of the Vegas Golden Knights in last year’s shocking run to the Cup final but this year they look capable of getting over the hump they couldn’t last season. Winnipeg has had a ton of success recently on Friday night as they are 9-4 in their last 13 games and as winners of 4 in a row overall and a 4-1 mark in their last 5 home games against St. Louis it looks more than probable for them to get it done again tonight. Winnipeg is 4-1 in their last 5 against divisional foes and with the way Patrik Laine is playing at the moment it makes sense to see the odds makers lining up a ton of money to come in on the home side.
The Blues are 1-4 in their last 5 road games and are 10-22 in their last 32 against a team with a winning record while the Jets are 52-18 in their last 70 home games and 7-2 in their last 9 against the West. St. Louis is bound to turn things around soon but the likelihood of it coming on the road in Winnipeg is incredibly unlikely.
