The Vegas Golden Knights and the Los Angeles Kings meet in NHL action from the Staples Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Vegas Golden Knights will be looking to build on back-to-back wins after a 4-3 win over Chicago in their last outing. Reilly Smith and Derek Engelland helped Vegas jump out to an early 2-0 lead before the midway point of the opening period but the lead would be gone at the end of 40 minutes as Chicago would equalize and actually take the lead early in the 3rd. That lead lasted all of :41 as Jonathan Marchessault tied the game for the Golden Knights before Alex Tuch buried just :12 later to give the Golden Knights what would end up being the game-winning goal. Marc-Andre Fleury picked up the win to improve to 16-9-1 this season after stopping 32 of the 35 shots he faced in the winning effort.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Kings will be looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 6-3 defeat at the hands of New Jersey in their last time out. New Jersey opened the scoring but the lead lasted all of 1:52 as Brendan Leipsic would tie the game at 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. The Kings went into the 2nd where they were outscored 3-2 with goals coming from Adrian Kempe and Kyle Clifford. The Kings were down 4-3 heading into the final frame where the Devils buried twice more, including one on an empty net to send the Kings to yet another loss. Jonathan Quick took the loss, falling to 1-6-1 on the year after allowing 5 goals on 34 shots in the losing effort.

Vegas is 7-1 in their last 8 games overall and 33-13 in their last 46 division games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record. Los Angeles is 2-7 in their last 9 home games and 4-12 in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 16-4-1 in their last 21 division games. Vegas is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

A home dog is usually tempting, but not when it’s the Kings who have been brutal at home this season and not when they’re going up against a Vegas team that is red hot right now. Something just seems off about Jonathan Quick as he hasn’t really found his footing at all this season, while Fleury is looking like he’s regained his form from last season and that could be good news now that Vegas finds themselves back in a playoff spot for the time being. All in all this is a decent price given that both teams are heading in completely different directions right now, so I’ll lay the juice with Vegas in this one.
