The Detroit Red Wings and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Center on Thursday night.

The Detroit Red Wings will be out to bounce back from a three-game losing streak after a 2-1 overtime loss to Dallas last time out. Dylan Larkin leads the Red Wings in scoring with 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists while Bobby Ryan has a team-high 4 goals with his 5 points and Tyler Bertuzzi has 3 goals and 2 assists for his 5 points. Filip Hronek has a team-high 4 assists and Anthony Mantha has a goal and 2 assists. Thomas Greiss has had bad luck in goal, going 0-4 in the crease for Detroit despite having a 2.54 GAA while Jonathan Bernier has a 2-1 mark with a 3.33 GAA this season.

The Dallas Stars will look to remain unbeaten after improving to 3-0 on the year with the win over Detroit last time out. Joe Pavelski leads the Stars in scoring with 3 goals and 5 assists for his team-high 8 points while John Klingberg has 6 points including 5 assists of his own. Roope Hintz has 5 points with a goal and 4 assists while Denis Gurianov has 2 goals and 2 assists and Alex Radulov has 3 points with a pair of goals as well on the year. Anton Khudobin continues to dominate the crease early on this year, posting a 3-0 record with a shutout and a 0.99 GAA this season.

Detroit is 12-46 in their last 58 games overall and 27-69 in their last 96 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Dallas is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 5-2 in their last 7 games following a win while the under is 41-20-5 in their last 66 home games. Detroit is 2-6 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 0-5 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Dallas.

I’d want to say that the plus money with Detroit is tempting, but the fact is that the Red Wings are back to looking like the team that struggled throughout the bulk of last year, even taking Dallas to OT as it was still a hard-fought effort that ended in another loss. Dallas has come out of the gate strong and Anton Khudobin’s making Dallas’ life really hard in terms of having to choose a starting #1 goaltender when Ben Bishop is healthy and comes back into the fold Either way, I think this ends up being a comfortable Dallas win, so I’ll side with Dallas on the puck line for added value.
