The Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks meet in NHL action from Rogers Arena on Thursday night.
The Edmonton Oilers will look to build on a 4-3 win over Vancouver in their last game. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers in scoring with 38 points coming in 13 goals and 25 assists while Leon Draisaitl’s got 33 points with 10 goals and 23 assists. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 18 points split between 9 goals and 9 assists and Tyson Barrie’s got 17 points with 3 goals and 14 assists and Darnell Nurse has 6 goals with 10 assists. Kailer Yamamoto has 10 points with 5 goals and 5 assists. Mikko Koskinen continues to start the bulk of Edmonton’s games in goal, going 7-8 with a 3.26 GAA while Mike Smith has 5 wins in 6 starts with a shutout and a 2.05 GAA for Edmonton this season.
The Vancouver Canucks will look to bounce back after their loss to Edmonton last time out. Brock Boeser has 22 points with 12 goals and 10 assists while Quinn Hughes has 21 points with 19 assists and J.T. Miller has 19 points with 4 goals and 15 assists. Elias Pettersson has 8 goals with 10 assists for his 18 points and Bo Horvat has 16 points with 9 goals and 7 helpers. Thatcher Demko and Braden Holtby continue to search for answers in goal, with each logging 4 wins and a GAA over 3.5 this season.
Edmonton is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall and 5-0 in their last 5 road games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. Vancouver is 2-10 in their last 12 games overall and 2-8 in their last 10 games as an underdog while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. The over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
The Canucks and the plus money at home would be worth a look, but the problem is that Vancouver’s back to playing hockey that give the plus money little to no value un the underdog role as the Canucks are finding new ways to lose on a regular basis. Edmonton’s still picking up wins more often than not and they’re at least winning games which is more than we can say for the Canucks so I’ll lay the juice with the Edmonton Oilers here.
