Nashville Predators vs Florida Panthers NHL Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/4/21

The Florida Panthers and the Nashville Predators meet in NHL action from the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night.

The Florida Panthers will try to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes last time out. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers in scoring with 24 points with 8 goals and 16 assists while Aleksander Barkov has 22 points with 8 goals and 14 apples. Patric Hornqvist’s got 18 points split between 9 goals and 9 assists sitting behind Barkov’s 77 shots on goal with 75 shots on goal himself this season. Carter Verhaeghe has 7 goals with 8 assists and Keith Yandle’s got 3 goals and 10 apples. Chris Driedger continues to share the crease with Sergei Bobrovsky, with Driedger logging 7 wins and a 2.25 GAA while Sergei Bobrovsky has 6 wins with a 3.02 GAA on the year.

The Nashville Predators will look to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to the Hurricanes themselves. Filip Forsberg leads the Preds in scoring with 19 points coming on 9 goals and 10 assists while Roman Josi has 13 points with a team-high 11 assists. Mikael Granlund and Ryan Ellis each have 9 points with Granlund logging 4 goals and 5 assists and Ellis chipping in 7 assists. Matt Duchene, Viktor Arvidsson and Dante Fabbro each have 8 points with Duchene logging 3 goals and 5 helpers while Arvidsson and Fabbro each have 6 assists on the year. Juuse Saros and Pekka Rinne have each made 13 appearances on the year for the Predators with each putting up 5 wins and Rinne boasting a shutout with a 2.48 GAA while Saros has a 3.10 GAA this season.

Florida is 5-1 in their last 6 road games and 18-8 in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Nashville is 1-9 in their last 10 games as an underdog and 0-4 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the over is 9-4 in their last 13 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. The favorite is 15-7 in the last 22 meetings between these two teams.

This is a hard one to call as Nashville’s done their best work at home and Florida has been really good on the road. Normally in this case I’d be tempted by the home dog, but Florida’s just been so good to start the year, especially on the road, so I’ll lay it and play it with the Florida Panthers in this one.
