The Edmonton Oilers and the Ottawa Senators meet in NHL action from the Canadian Tire Centre on Monday night.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to bounce back from a 6-4 loss to Calgary in their last outing. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers in scoring with 26 points including 9 goals and 17 assists while Leon Draisaitl isn’t far behind with 23 points on 7 goals and 16 assists. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 11 points with 5 goals and 6 helpers and Darnell Nurse and Tyson Barrie each have 10 points with Nurse logging 4 goals and 6 assists while Barrie has 9 assists on the year. Kailer Yamamoto also has 4 goals and 4 assists for his 8 points for Edmonton this season. Mikko Koskinen’s posted a 5-7 record with a 3.55 GAA for the Oilers so far this season.

The Ottawa Senators will look to rebound from a 2-1 loss to Montreal in their last game. Thomas Chabot, Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris all have 7 points with Chabot and Tkachuk logging 3 goals and 4 assists each while Norris has 2 goals and 5 assists. Drake Batherson and Tim Stutzle each have 6 points with Batherson posting 5 assists while Stutzle has 4 goals and a pair of assists. After that, five more Senators have 5 points on the year. Matt Murray and Marcus Hogberg continue to split the work, with Murray logging a pair of wins and a 4.10 GAA while Hogberg is still winless with a 4.54 GAA on the year.

Edmonton is 2-6 in their last 8 road games and 1-5 in their last 6 games as a road favorite while the over is 6-1-1 in their last 8 games overall. Ottawa is 0-4 in their last 4 home games and 7-25 in their last 32 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. The over is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings between the two in Ottawa.

I’m not trying to get behind either side here as both have serious goaltending issues that need to be fixed going forward. And with that said, I’m taking the over. Like I said the goaltending has been horrendous on both sides and in the first meeting between the two this season, the over hit by the end of the first period. I think we see a lot more offense here, so give me the over in this one.
