The Anaheim Ducks and the San Jose Sharks meet in NHL action from the SAP Center on Monday night.

The Anaheim Ducks will look to build on a 1-0 win over Vegas last time out. Max Comtois has a team-high 8 points with 6 goals and a pair of assists while Carter Rowney, Hampus Lindholm, Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell each have 6 points with Rowney logging 6 assists while Getzlaf and Rakell each have 5 helpers and Lindholm’s got 4 assists on the year. Nicolas Deslauriers and Jakob Silfverberg each hve 5 points with 3 goals and a pair of assists as well this season. John Gibson’s started the bulk of Anaheim’s games, picking up 5 wins and 3 shutouts with a 2.26 GAA this season.

The San Jose Sharks will look to rebound from a 3-1 loss to the same Vegas Golden Knights in their last matchup. Logan Couture leads the Sharks in scoring with 11 points coming on 6 goals and 5 assists while Tomas Hertl is one assist behind with 10 points including 6 goals as well. Evander Kane has 9 points with 4 goals and 5 assists while Brent Burns and Ryan Donato each have 7 points consisting of 3 goals and 4 assists for their point totals. Timo Meier also has 6 points with 4 assists and Kevin Labanc has 5 points with 4 assists as well. Martin Jones has accounted for all 5 of San Jose’s wins in goal this season, with a 3.96 GAA in 9 starts.

Anaheim is 16-35 in their last 51 games following a win and 3-8 in their last 11 Monday games while the under is 9-2-1 in their last 12 games as an underdog. San Jose is 0-4 in their last 4 home games and 2-6 in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 17-4 in their last 21 Monday games.

I’ve gone back and forth because neither team is one I want anything to do with right now really. However, the two sides are both decent on the defensive end, and it’s been the offense on both sides that’s been sputtering, for the most part, this season, so I’ll side with the under as I’m expecting a traditional, hard-hitting rivalry game here where goals will be at a premium and hard to come by.
