The New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils meet in NHL action from the Prudential Center on Thursday night.

The New York Rangers will look to build on a 3-2 win over the Sabres in their last matchup. Artemi Panarin leads the Rangers in scoring with 18 points including a team-high 13 assists while Pavel Buchnevich has 15 points with 6 goals and 9 assists and Ryan Strome also has 6 goals with 7 assists for his 13 points. Chris Kreider and Adam Fox each have 12 points with Kreider logging a team-high 10 goals and Fox chipping in 11 apples this season. Igor Shesterkin has seen the bulk of the Rangers’ starts in goal, logging 5 wins with a 2.40 GAA in 14 appearances while Alexandar Georgiev’s got 3 wins and a shutout with a 2.79 GAA this season.

The New Jersey Devils will hope to rebound from a 2-1 loss to the Islandersto make it three straight losses and defeats in 6 of their last 7. Pavel Zacha leads the Devils in scoring with 14 points coming on 6 goals and 8 assists while Jack Hughes has 12 points with 4 goals and 8 helpers. Myles Wood and Ty Smith each have 11 points with Wood leading Jersey with 7 goals while Smith has a team-high 9 assists for the Devils. Kyle Palmieri has 9 points with 3 goals and 6 assists while P.K. Subban has 7 assists and Severson has 6 assists for the Devils from the point this season. MacKenzie Blackwood leads the Devils with 5 wins and a 2.58 GAA in 10 appearances while Scott Wedgewood has a win via shutout and a 2.80 GAA in 5 appearances.

New York is 3-7 in their last 10 road games and 2-8 in their last 10 games following a win while the under is 8-0 in their last 8 games as a road favorite. New Jersey is 1-6 in their last 7 games overall and 0-7 in their last 7 home games while the under is 8-1 in their last 9 Thursday games.

Even in a near coin flip, neither of these teams are one I really feel like backing right now, as the Devils can’t win at home and the Rangers haven’t been good enough for me to lay juice with them on the road in good conscience. However, these are also two of the lower scoring teams in the league, with the Rangers in 24th and the Devils in 26th in goals per game this season while the goaltending has also been alright on both sides so I’ll lean towards the under in what I could see being a 2-1 or 3-2 game.
