The Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs meet in NHL action from Scotiabank Arena on Thursday night.

The Vancouver Canucks will look to bounce back from a 5-3 loss to Montreal in their last matchup. Quinn Hughes leads the Canucks in scoring with 14 points including a team-high 13 assists while Brock Boeser has 12 points with a team-high 8 goals. Bo Horvat and J.T. Miller each have 11 points with Miller logging 9 assists while Horvat has 5 goals and 6 helpers. Elias Pettersson has 8 points with 4 goals and 4 helpers and Tanner Pearson has 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists on the year. Thatcher Demko and Braden Holtby have split goaltending duties for the Canucks, with each posting 3 wins and a GAA well above three on the year.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will try to bounce back after an extended layoff and a 4-3 loss to Edmonton last time out. Mitch Marner leads the Leafs with 14 points and a team-high 9 assists while John Tavares and Auston Matthews each have 10 points with Tavares logging 6 assists and Matthews putting up a team-high 6 goals. William Nylander has 9 points with 4 goals and 5 assists and Morgan Rielly has 6 assists as part of his 7-point tally and Jason Spezza and Justin Holl each have 5 points with a combined 9 assists between the two. Frederik Andersen has seen the majority of Toronto’s work in the crease, going 5-3 with a 3.01 GAA this season.

Vancouver is 1-5 in their last 6 road games and 1-4 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Toronto is 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite and 4-9 in their last 13 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 7-1-1 in their last 9 games as a home favorite. Vancouver is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and 0-7 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams in Toronto.

This is a lot of plus money to give up with a Vancouver team that’s started to find their groove again offensively in recent games. However, the Canucks haven’t had any recent success in this matchup, and even without fans, this is still a tough test for a goaltending pair in Demko and Holtby that haven’t been all that great this season. Toronto has been rolling along for the most part so far and I think the Canucks are in for a bumpy ride here so I’ll side with Toronto and to get the price down, I’ll back Toronto to win in regulation on the 3-way 60 minute line.
