The Boston Bruins and the New Jersey Devils meet in NHL action from the Prudential Center on Monday night.

The Boston Bruins will look to build on a 6-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres in their last matchup. Brad Marchand leads the Bruins in scoring with 61 points including a team-high 27 goals and 34 assists while David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron each have 43 points with 19 goals and 24 assists. David Krejci’s on 37 points with 29 assists while Craig Smith has 32 points with 13 goals and 19 assists this season. As a team, Boston is averaging 2.9 goals on 33 shots with a 21.2% success rate on the power play while allowing 2.4 goals on 27.7 shots with an 86.4% success rate killing off penalties this season.

The New Jersey Devils will be out to build on their 4-1 win over the Flyers in their last game. Pavel Zacha leads the Devils with 31 points including 13 goals and 18 assists while Jack Hughes has 29 points with 11 goals and 18 apples and Jesper Bratt’s on 28 points with a team-high 21 assists. Yegor Sharangovich has 28 points with 15 goals and 13 assists. Myle Wood has a team-high 17 goals and Ty Smith has 21 assists as well this season. As a team, New Jersey is averaging 2.6 goals on 29.5 shots with a 14.7% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.4 goals on 30.7 shots with a 69.9% success rate killing off penalties this season.

Boston is 9-2 in their last 11 games overall and 7-3 in their last 10 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record. New Jersey is 17-35 in their last 52 games overall and 17-38 in their last 55 home games while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a home underdog. The under is 15-5-3 in the last 23 meetings between these two teams.

I get the allure of the huge plus money with New Jersey, but the Devils simply don’t play well at home to begin with and now have to face a Boston team that can clinch a playoff spot with a win. I don’t think the Bruins leave anything to chance in this game and put a hurting on the Devils here.
