The Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights meet in NHL action from the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday night.

The Colorado Avalanche will look to build on a 2-1 win over Minnesota last time out. Nathan MacKinnon leads the Avs in scoring with 14 points coming on 2 goals and 12 assists while Cale Makar has a goal and 11 helpers for his 12 points this season. Mikko Rantanen has a team-high 7 goals and 3 assists for his 10 points and Samuel Girard has 9 points with a goal and 8 assists. Brandon Saad, Gabriel Landeskog, Andre Burakovsky and Joonas Donskoi each have 8 points with Saad and Donskoi posting 5 goals with 3 assists and Saad and Landeskog each putting up 3 goals and 5 helpers. Phillip Grubauer’s started the bulk of Colorado’s games, going 7-2 with a pair of shutouts and a 1.67 GAA this season.

The Vegas Golden Knights will look to build on a 3-1 win over San Jose last time out. Mark Stone has a team-high 12 assists as part of his 16 points while Max Pacioretty has 11 points with 6 goals and 5 assists.Alex tuch, Jonathan Marchessault and Shea Theodore all have 10 points with Tuch and Marchessault each having 4 goals and 6 assists while Theodore has 3 goals and 7 helpers. Chandler Stephenson also has 9 points with 5 goals and 4 helpers on the year for Vegas. Marc-Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner each split the time in goal for Vegas, with Fleury going 6-1 with a shutout and a 1.58 GAA while Lehner’s got a pair of wins and a 2.96 GAA.

Colorado is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest. Vegas is 22-7 in their last 29 home games and 35-16 in their last 51 games overall while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games as a home underdog. The over is 5-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

I get the case that could be made for either side here as Colorado’s a really good team that’s a tempting proposition with a low line and Vegas is always lethal, especially at home. However, These two teams have a ton of offensive potential between them, and a ton of top-tier talent on both sides. I think the goaltenders are in for a workout here, so I’ll back the over in this contest.
