The Philadelphia Flyers and the Buffalo Sabres meet in NHL action from the Keybank Arena on Saturday night.
The Philadelphia Flyers will try to snap a three-game losing skid after a 4-0 loss to the New York Rangers last time out. Cam Atkinson leads the Flyers in scoring with 50 points including a team-high 23 goals, 27 assists while Travis Konecny also has a team-high 32 assists as well on the year. Carter Hart’s gone 13-24-7 with a 3.16 GAA and a .905 save percentage in goal for the Flyers while Martin Jones has gone 10-15-3 with a 3.49 GAA and an .899 save percentage this season.
The Buffalo Sabres will look to rebound from their 6-2 loss at the hands of the St. Louis Blues last time out. Tage Thompson leads the Sabres in scoring with 60 points including 33 goals while Rasmus Dahlin also has 46 points with a team-high 36 assists and Jeff Skinner has 55 points with 31 goals. Kyle Okposo also has 42 points with 19 goals and 23 apples this season. Craig Anderson has an 15-12-2 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .897 save percentage between the pipes for Buffalo this season.
Philadelphia is 16-36 in their last 52 road games and 15-45 in their last 60 games overall while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games as a road underdog. Buffalo is 20-41 in their last 61 home games and 38-85 in their last 123 games overall while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 games against the Metropolitan division.
I get why you could look at an underdog in most games, but the thing about the Flyers is that it doesn’t matter what part of the season we’re in, they’re still not a good hockey team. Buffalo is long out of the playoffs as well, but they’ve been battling hard lately against some solid opposition as well and I think that tough schedule can help prep them to get a win here. Give me Buffalo and the reasonable price at home here.
