The Florida Panthers and the Ottawa Senators meet in NHL action from the Canadian Tire Center on Thursday night.

The Florida Panthers will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 4-2 loss to Boston last time out. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers in scoring with 115 points including a team-high 85 assists while Sam Reinhart has 80 points, logging 32 goals and 48 assists. Aleksander Barkov has a team-high 39 goals as well as 88 points for Florida this season. Sergei Bobrovsky’s gone 39-7-3 with a 2.67 GAA and a .913 save percentage between the pipes for Florida while Spencer Knight is 18-9-3 with a 2.89 GAA and an .905 save percentage this season.

The Ottawa Senators will try to add to their current four-game win streak after a 5-4 OT win over New Jersey last time out. Brady Tkachuk leads the Sens in scoring with 65 points including 29 goals and 36 assists while Drake Batherson has 44 points with 27 assists and Josh Norris has 54 points with a team-high 34 goals on the year. Tim Stutzle also has 57 points with 22 goals and 35 assists. Anton Forsberg is 21-17-4 with a 2.84 GAA and a .916 save percentage this season for Ottawa in goal.

Florida is 39-12 in their last 51 games overall and 19-7 in their last 26 road games while the under is 5-1-4 in their last 10 games as a favorite. Ottawa is 6-13 in their last 19 home games and 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 home games.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m leaning towards the Senators +1.5. Florida’s arguably the best team in the league, at least from a points perspective if nothing else, but the Senators have been a thorn in Florida’s side this season, winning in Florida while also taking the Panthers to a one goal decision in another meeting. The Senators also have a tendency to surprise when you least expect it and it’s their last home stand of the season so I think they’d want to send their fans home happy. Give me Ottawa +1.5 in an exciting matchup on Thursday.
