The Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames meet in NHL action from the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday night.

The Montreal Canadiens will look to rebound from a 4-0 loss at the hands of the San Jose Sharks last time out. Nick Suzuki has a team-high 24 points with 12 goals and 12 assists while Cole Caufield also has 21 points with 12 goals of his own and Kirby Dach has 17 points with 13 assists of his own on the year. Jake Allen is 6-8 with a 3.57 GAA and an .890 save percentage while Sam Montembault is 5-2-1 with a 2.48 GAA and a .924 save percentage between the pipes for Montreal this season.

The Calgary Flames will try to build on their 6-2 win over the Florida Panthers last time out. Elias Lindholm leads the Flames in scoring with 16 points including 6 goals and 10 assists while Nazem Kadri bas 15 points with a team-high 8 goals and 7 assists. Rasmus Andersson has 16 points with a team-high 13 assists and Tyler Toffoli also has 16 points with 8 goals and 8 assists. Jacob Markstrom’s gone 8-5-2 with a 3.03 GAA and an .889 save percentage while Dan Vladar is 2-4-1 with a 2.70 GAA and a .913 save percentage between the pipes for Calgary this season.

Montreal is 34-75 in their last 109 games overall and 16-38 in their last 54 road games while the over is 13-3 in their last 16 games against the Pacific division. Calgary is 5-11 in their last 16 games overall and 3-8 in their last 11 games against the Eastern Conference while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous games.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m looking at the under here. These are two teams that find themselves in their fair share of low-scoring games as of late, and I think worst case scenario, the game finishes at 3-2 whichever way you have it going. I’ll side with the under.
