The Seattle Kraken and the Carolina Hurricanes meet in NHL action from the PNC Arena on Thursday night.

The Seattle Kraken will look to rebound from a 6-2 loss to Tampa Bay in their last game. Andre Burakovsky leads Seattle in scoring with 27 points including a team-high 17 assists while Jordan Eberle has 24 points with 7 goals and 17 assists and Matty Beniers has 23 points with 11 goals and 12 assists. Jared McCann also has a team-high 13 goals this season for Seattle. Martin Jones has gone 13-5-2 with a 2.91 GAA and an .890 save percentage while Philipp Grubauer is 2-4-1 with a 3.49 GAA and an .874 save percentage in goal for Seattle this season.

The Carolina Hurricanes will look to build on a 1-0 win over Detroit in their last game. Martin Necas has a team-high 28 points with 12 goals and a team-high 16 assists while Sebastian Aho also has 16 assists along with 11 goals as part of his 27 points. Andrei Svechnikov also has 26 points with a team-high 15 goals this season. Pyotr Kochetkov is 7-1-4 with a 2.02 GAA and a .926 save percentage while Antti Raanta is 4-2-2 with a 2.62 GAA and a .894 save percentage in goal for Carolina so far this season.

Seattle is 1-6 in their last 7 games following a loss by 3 or more goals and 17-36 in their last 53 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-0-1 in their last 6 games against the Metropolitan division. Carolina is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall and 41-17 in their last 58 home games while the under is 10-4 in their last 14 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I’m backing the Hurricanes here. The ‘Canes are back on a roll in recent games and the Kraken, while hot at one point have definitely taken a step back and have cooled off on the road and I’m just not looking to step in front of the Hurricanes right now. I’ll side with the ‘Canes to get the win here.
