The Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets meet in NHL action from the Nationwide Arena on Sunday.

The Detroit Red Wings will try to snap a three-game losing streak after their 4-1 loss to Vegas last time out. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit with 9 goals and 17 assists for his 26 points while Dominik Kubalik has 23 points with 9 goals and 14 assists. Filip Hronek has 20 points with 6 goals and 14 assists and David Perron has 17 points with 7 goals and 10 assists. Ville Husso has gone 9-4-3 with a 2.61 GAA and a .910 save percentage while Alex Nedeljkovic is 2-3-2 with a 3.97 GAA and an .880 save percentage between the pipes for Detroit this season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will hope to build on their 4-1 win over Winnipeg in their last game. Johnny Gaudreau has a team-high 25 points with 8 goals and 17 assists while Boone Jenner has 16 points with a team-high 9 goals. Elvis Merzlikins has gone 2-5 with a 4.74 GAA and an .864 save percentage while Joonas Korpisalo is 4-4-1 with a 3.43 GAA and a .908 save percentage and Daniil Tarasov has gone 2-3-1 with a 3.17 GAA and an .912 save percentage in goal for Columbus this year.

Detroit is 1-4 in their last 5 games against the Eastern Conference and 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Metropolitan division while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 Sunday games. Columbus is 1-6 in their last 7 games played on 1 days rest and 1-4 in their last 5 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I’m not rushing to the window to bet this game, but I lean towards Columbus. The thing about Detroit was that they were decent at home but terrible on th road and while Detroit’s play has improved this season, there’s still the stigma that this Red Wings group can’t win on the road. Columbus hasn’t been great, but they do provide value in spots and getting plus money to fade Detroit on the road seems to be one of them. Give me Columbus here.
