The St. Louis Blues and the Edmonton Oilers meet in NHL action from Rogers Place on Saturday.

The St. Louis Blues will look to build on back-to-back wins to start the year after a 4-3 overtime win over Seattle last time out. Vladimir Tarasenko leads the Blues in scoring with 5 points including a pair of goals and 3 assists while Brayden Schenn and Robert Thomas each have 3 assists as well. Justin Faulk also has 3 points with a pair of goals of his own this season. Jordan Binnington’s seen the action in goal for St. Louis up to this point in the season with a record of 2-0 along with a 2.46 GAA and a .917 save percentage this season.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to build on a 6-4 win over the Carolina Hurricanes to get back to .500 at 2-2 on the year as a result. Connor McDavid has a team-high 10 points and 5 goals with 5 assists as well while Leon Draisaitl has a team-high 8 points and 6 assists. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 5 points with a pair of goals with 3 assists while Zach Hyman has 4 points with 3 assists as well. Darnell Nurse and Evander Kane each have 3 points with Nurse logging a pair of goals and Kane chipping in a pair of assists. Jack Campbell is 2-1 with a 5.08 GAA and an .874 save percentage while Stuart Skinner is 0-1 with a 1.69 GAA and a .944 save percentage between the pipes for Edmonton this season.

I get the case to be made for the Oilers at home, but the problem for me here is that it doesn’t matter who’s in goal for the Oilers, they’ve been shaky at the back and it’s hard to win hockey games when you’re giving up 4-5 goals per game. The Oilers will have the best player on the ice in McDavid, but I think the Blues have the greater group of players and have a decent edge in goal and all in all, I think the Blues hold value at plus money here so give me St. Louis.
