The Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators meet in NHL action from the Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night.

The Dallas Stars will be looking to build on a 4-2 win over Montreal last time out. Jason Robertson has a team-high 50 points and Roope Hintz has 38 points with Hintz logging 22 assists and Robertson posting a team-high 24 goals and 26 assists while Joe Pavelski also has 11 goals and 33 points this season. Jamie Benn also has 32 points with 13 goals and 19 assists this season. Jake Oettinger’s gone 14-5-3 with a 2.45 GAA and a .919 save percentage while Scott Wedgewood is 6-4-3 with a 3.03 GAA and a .910 save percentage in goal for the Stars so far this season.

The Nashville Predators will look to rebound from a 3-2 OT loss to Colorado last time out. Filip Forsberg has 25 points with 9 goals and 16 assists while Mikael Granlund has 20 points with his own 16 assists and Matt Duchene has 26 points with 16 assists on the year. Roman Josi has 26 points with 19 assists and Nino Niederreiter’s also chipped in a team-high 11 goals while Ryan Johansen has 9 goals as well on the year. Juuse Saros has gone 11-9-5 with a 2.81 GAA and a .914 save percentage between the pipes for Nashville while Kevin Lankinen is 3-4 with a 2.64 GAA and a .925 save percentage.

Dallas is 2-5 in their last 7 division games and 27-10 in their last 37 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 road games. Nashville is 2-7 in their last 9 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 division games.

I get the reasoning for backing either one of these sides here and the Preds actually started to show a pulse in their last couple of games before the Christmas break. However, the Stars are simply the better team here by a fair margin and they’ve been the team that’s far, far easier to trust at the end of the day. All in all, I just think we’re getting the better team at the more reasonable price, so give me Dallas in this one.
