The New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins meet in NHL action from the PPG Paints Arena on Tuesday night.

The New York Rangers will try to add to their current seven-game win streak after a 7-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks last time out. Artemi Panarin leads the Rangers with 40 points and Mika Zibanejad’s right behind with 37 points, with Zibanejad owning the team-lead with 15 goals along with 22 assists while Panarin has a team-high 32 assists as part of his 40 points. Adam Fox has 34 points with 7 goals and 27 assists while Chris Kreider also has 24 points with 14 goals of his own this season. Igor Shesterkin’s gone 16-4-4 with a 2.39 GAA and a .919 save percentage while Jaroslav Halak has gone 2-6-1 with a 3.04 GAA and an .890 save percentage this season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will try to bounce back from a 3-2 loss that snapped their own seven-game win streak last time out. Sidney Crosby has a team-high 40 points with 17 goals and 23 assists while Evgeni Malkin has 32 points split between 10 goals and 22 assists. Jake Guentzel has also chipped in 31 points with 15 goals and 16 assists this season. Tristan Jarry has gone 14-3-3 with a 2.63 GAA and a .921 save percentage while Casey DeSmith is 4-6-1 with a 2.83 GAA and a .914 save percentage in goal for Pittsburgh this season.

New York is 7-0 in their last 7 games overall and 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 division games. Pittsburgh is 6-0 in their last 5 home games and 7-0 in their last 7 games played on 1 day’s rest while the under is 4-0-2 in their last 6 games overall.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m on the under in this one. This is a playoff rematch and ironically when playoff hockey is supposed to be lower-scoring, these two went 7-0 to the over in that seven game series. I think we get back to reality here between two of the hottest teams in the NHL over the last couple of weeks that have rode solid defense and goaltending for a lot of their success. Give me the under here in a first to 3 wins kind of game.
