The New York Islanders and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Thursday night.

The New York Islanders will be out to build on their 4th straight win after a 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in their last game. Brock Nelson leads the Islanders in scoring with 11 points including 4 goals and 7 assists while Mathew Barzal has a team-high 10 assists and Anders Lee also has 10 points with a team-high 5 goals and 5 assists. Ilya Sorokin has gone 4-3 with a 2.04 GAA and a .935 save percentage while Semyon Varlamov is 2-1 with a 3.03 GAA and a .907 save percentage so far this season.

The St. Louis Blues will try to bounce back from a 5th straight loss, falling to L.A. last time out by a final count of 5-1. Brayden Schenn and Justin Faulk each have a team-high 9 points with Schenn logging a team-high 7 assists while Faulk has 3 goals and 6 assists. Vladimir Tarasenko also has 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists while Robert Thomas has 6 points with 5 assists and Jordan Kyrou also has 3 goals this season. Jordan Binnington’s seen the action in goal for St. Louis up to this point in the season with a record of 3-3 along with a 3.28 GAA and an .882 save percentage this season.

New York is 42-19 in their last 61 games against a team with a losing record and 4-0 in their last 4 games against the Western Conference while the over is 18-7-1 in their last 26 games following a win. St. Louis is 0-5 in their last 5 games overall and 1-6 in their last 7 home games while the over is 8-1-1 in their last 10 games against the Eastern Conference.

I get the reasoning for the Blues being favored on home ice, but home ice is the only thing that makes sense because the Blues have been absolutely dreadful over the course of this losing streak that they’ve been on. It won’t last forever, but I think you have to keep fading the Blues until they get out of this nosedive. The Islanders are playing some solid hockey and have a physical style of play that frustrates any and all that go against them. I think this should be a true coin flip. Give me the Islanders and the plus money.
