The Detroit Red Wings and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet in NHL action from the Amalie Arena on Tuesday night.

The Detroit Red Wings will look to rebound from a 6-1 loss to the Florida Panthers last time out. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit in scoring with 69 points including a team-high 31 goals while Tyler Bertuzzi has 56 points with 27 goals this season. Lucas Raymond has 55 points with 22 goals and 33 apples. Moritz Seider also has 41 assists so far this season. Alex Nedeljkovic is 19-22-9 with a 3.33 GAA and a .901 save percentage in goal for Detroit while Thomas Greiss is 9-14-1 with a 3.56 GAA and an .892 save percentage this season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to build on back-to-back wins after a 7-4 win over Winnipeg last time out. Steven Stamkos leads the Lightning in scoring with 84 points including a team-high 33 goals along with 51 assists while Victor Hedman also has 72 points with a team-high 53 assists as well this season. Brayden Point has 55 points with 27 goals and 28 assists and Alex Killorn has 55 points with 23 goals and 32 assists for the Bolts this season. Andrei Vaslievskiy has seen the bulk of the workload between the pipes for Tampa Bay this season, posting a record of 35-17-5 with a 2.46 GAA and a .917 save percentage on the year.

Detroit is 21-75 in their last 96 road games and 51-130 in their last 181 games as an underdog while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. Tampa Bay is 54-23 in their last 77 home games and 63-22 in their last 85 division games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win.

I get why the Lightning are favored, but it’s an unjustified number based on name brand in my opinion. I get that the Red Wings have been terrible down the stretch, but Tampa Bay’s been mediocre themselves as of late and the Red Wings have actually had four one goal games win or lose against Tampa Bay in the last five meetings. The only way to get value out of this game with the Bolts is the puck line, and it doesn’t work when the Red Wings have been a thorn in Tampa Bay’s side for some time. Not a game I’m rushing to bet, but there could be some value with Detroit +1.5 here.
