The Winnipeg Jets and the Montreal Canadiens meet in NHL action from the Bell Centre on Tuesday night. Let’s dive into the odds, injuries, matchup history and make a prediction for this game.

Odds

The Winnipeg Jets are currently road favorites with a -210 price tag on the money line while Montreal is listed as a +175 home underdog. The over/under is set at 6 goals.

Injuries

The Jets announced that Logan Stanley will be out until late January with a lower-body injury while David Gustafsson is out indefinitely with a lower body injury of his own. Montreal on the other hand, has had a laundry list of injuries come up. Juraj Slatkovsky, Jake Allen and Jake Evans are all questionable for this game, while Brendan Gallagher, Sean Monahan, Mike Matheson, Kaiden Guhle and Emil Heineman will all miss considerable time for Montreal.

Matchup history

Winnipeg has won the last three meetings between these two teams, including a 3-2 OT win in the lone meeting between the two this season.

Trends

Winnipeg is 8-1 in their last 9 games overall and 35-17 in their last 52 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 8-1 in their last 9 road games. Montreal is 41-90 in their last 131 games overall and 18-38 in their last 56 home games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a win.

Pick

I’m siding with Winnipeg here. The Jets are just the better team from top to bottom, and not only that, they’re the healthier team as well. Montreal did well to battle the Rangers hard, but in the end it was another loss. I think there will be value with Montreal down the road as this is still a better team than last year’s debacle, but I’m not there in this spot. Give me Winnipeg.
