The Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers meet in NHL action from the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday. Let’s dive into the odds, injuries, matchup history and make a prediction for this game.

Odds

Carolina is listed as a -215 road favorite while Philadelphia is listed as a +170 home underdog. The total for this game is set at 6 goals.

Injuries

For Carolina, Antti Raanta is out indefinitely with a lower body injury while Andrei Svechnikov is out for the season and Ondrej Kase remains out with a concussion. For Philadelphia, Sean Couturier is out with a back injury.

Matchup History

Carolina’s 1-0 win over the Flyers back on March 9th, 2023, made it six straight wins for the Flyers in this head-to-head matchup.

Trends

Carolina is 14-6 in their last 20 road games and 35-17 in their last 52 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 division games. Philadelphia is 3-9 in their last 12 home games and 21-63 in their last 84 games against the Eastern Conference while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games played on no rest.

Pick

I’m backing the Hurricanes -1.5 here. Carolina’s simply the better team and while both are on the back-to-back and the Flyers were the only one here that got a win, I think the Flyers shot their best shot against the Sabres and now have to roll with a backup goalie here and the goalie depth for Philly isn’t looking great. The Hurricanes are one of the deeper and more talented teams in the NHL and I think they beat up on the Flyers here.
