The Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers meet in NHL action from Rogers Place on Tuesday night.
The Calgary Flames will look to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to the Oilers in game three last time out. Johnny Gaudreau leads the Flames in scoring with 13 points including a team-high 11 assists while Matthew Tkachuk has 10 points with 4 goals and 6 assists and Elias Lindholm has 8 points with 4 goals and 4 assists. Jacob Markstrom has gone 5-5 with a .912 save percentage and a 2.65 GAA this postseason.
The Edmonton Oilers will try to take a commanding 3-1 series lead after their win over Edmonton last time out. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers in scoring with 23 points including 6 goals and a team-high 17 assists while Leon Draisaitl has 19 points split between 7 goals and 12 assists. Evander Kane has 13 points with 10 goals of his own while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 8 points with 6 assists. Zach Hyman’s also got 8 points with 6 goals and Evan Bouchard also has 7 points with 5 assists this postseason. Mike Smith’s gone 6-3 so far in the postseason, with a .933 save percentage and a 2.55 GAA this postseason.
Calgary is 1-5 in their last 6 road games and 1-6 in their last 7 games as a road underdog while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 division games. Edmonton is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 12-3 in their last 15 games when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game while the over is 15-4 in their last 19 games as a home favorite.
I get the reasoning for backing anything in this game, but I’m looking at the Oilers in this one. The Oilers have made the adjustments from their loss in game one and have really stifled the Flames in the last couple of games and until I see the Flames make those necessary adjustments, I’m not sure they’re coming. I think the Oilers are feeding off of Connor McDavid’s drive right now and I think the Oilers take a 3-1 series lead with a win here.
