The Ottawa Senators and the Edmonton Oilers meet in NHL action from Rogers Place on Sunday night.

The Ottawa Senators sill look to snap a seven-game losing skid after a 4-1 loss to Vancouver in their last matchup. Nikita Zaitsev, Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris each have 5 points with Tkachuk and Norris each posting 2 goals and 3 assists while Zaitsev has 5 assists. Thomas Chabot, Nic Paul and Drake Batherson each have 4 points with Chabot and Paul each posting 2 goals and 2 assists and Batherson has 4 helpers. Connor Brown, Mike Reilly, Austin Watson and Chris Tierney each have 3 points with Brown and Reilly each logging 3 assists, Watson putting up 2 goals and an assist and Tierney has 3 goals. Matt Murray’s seen the bulk of the workload for Ottawa in goal, going 1-5 with a 4.39 GAA while Marcus Hogberg has a 4.33 GAA.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to build some momentum after a 4-3 win over Toronto last time out. Connor McDavid has a team-high 17 points with 7 goals and 10 assists while Leon Draisaitl has 15 points with 6 goals and 9 assists. Darnell Nurse and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have 7 points each, with Nugent-Hopkins logging 4 goals and 3 assists while Nurse has 6 assists. Kailer Yamamoto has 6 points and Tyson Barrie has 5 assists. Mikko Koskinen’s started all 10 games for Edmonton, going 4-6 with a 3.45 GAA this season.

Ottawa is 15-41 in their last 56 games overall and 7-23 in their last 30 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 9-4 in their last 13 games playing on 2 days rest. Edmonton is 5-11 in their last 16 games overall and 2-6 in their last 8 games as a home favorite while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games overall. The over is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

It may be the obvious play here, but I’m going to side with the over. I’m not laying this kind of price with the Oilers who have looked like a sieve defensively up to this point, and the Ottawa Senators are in auto-fade until further notice. Neither goalie looks like they could stop a beach ball right now, so I’m taking the over.
