Flames vs Kraken Prediction 10/1/26 NHL Picks Today

The Seattle Kraken and Calgary Flames meet Thursday in NHL action at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Here’s a Flames vs. Kraken Prediction. This article will include a Flames vs Kraken Pick.

Seattle Kraken Betting Preview

The Kraken have gone three straight seasons without making the playoffs. Lane Lambert returns for his second season as coach.

Outside of adding Mackie Samoskevich, the Kraken are pretty much the same team they were a season ago. There’s an emerging young core on this Kraken team that includes Matty Beniers, Shane Wright, Berkly Catton, and Kaapo Kakko. There’s also some leadership with vets Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann, and Vince Dunn. The Kraken have a nice roster balance, and there’s a decent goalie duo. On paper, the Kraken are a decent team that will be on the playoff bubble all season. Getting over the hump likely comes down to special teams play, mainly on the penalty kill.

Calgary Flames Betting Preview

The Flames had 77 points last season, and haven’t made the playoffs since the 2021-22 season. Coach Ryan Huska is back for his fourth season.

The Flames added defensemen Simon Nemec and Jake Middleton, while they said goodbye to Blake Coleman. Many view this as a developmental season for the Flames, but there’s legit upside when you factor in a promising young goalie in Dustin Wolf. He gives Calgary a fighting chance every night. There are good defensemen, and there are promising core players in Morgan Frost, Matt Coronato, Connor Zary, and Matvei Gridin. It may take time for everybody to get on the same page, but there’s talent here and potential to be a team that’s worth backing.

Flames vs Kraken Prediction

The Kraken are probably the better win-now team between the two, but there’s legit upside with this Flames roster, and I believe they can make us some money this season. We’re still feeling all of these teams out, but home ice is an edge in a spot where we’re getting pick-em prices. The Flames are a team I’ll be watching as a potential money maker, as many aren’t that high on them, but there’s potential. Give me the Flames.
