Kings vs Avalanche Prediction 10/7/25 NHL Picks Today

The Colorado Avalanche and the Los Angeles Kings meet Tuesday in NHL action from the Crypto.com Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s an Kings vs Avalanche Prediction.

Colorado Avalanche Team Preview

The Colorado Avalanche come into the 2025-26 season looking to take a step forward after a 49-29-4 mark in 2024-25, finishing 3rd in the Central division. The Avalanche would have a first round date with the Dallas Stars, but would be overloaded, losing to the Stars in game seven, making it two first round exits for the Avs in the last three seasons. The majority of the Avalanche’s core is back, led by Nathan MacKinnon who is back with a bit of a chip on his shoulder after Colorado’s early playoff exit last year, following a season where he finished second in the NHL in scoring and led Colorado in points, goals and assists. Gabriel Landeskog will also be back in the fold after rejoining the team for his first game since 2021-22, when he came back in the playoffs. Cale Makar will anchor the blue line alongisde free agent acquisition Brent Burns, and the returning goaltending tandem of MacKenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood will be hoping to replicate some of the success had from last season.

Los Angeles Kings Recap

The Los Angeles Kings come into this season looking to change their outlook after finishing 48-25-9 in the regular season and second in the Pacific division, but for the fourth consecutive season, the Kings would be bounced in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs by the Edmonton Oilers. The Kings had a season where they tied a franchise record for points in a season with 105 and had a pair of 35-goal scorers in Kevin Fiala and Adrian Kempe, alongside captain Anze Kopitar, who finished second in scoring but announced before the season that the 2025-26 season will be his last. The Kings will be hoping to ride a strong defense and hope for a repeat performance from Darcy Kuemper and new backup Anton Forsberg to take the next step in 2025-26.

Kings vs Avalanche Prediction

I’m on the over here. I think that these are two teams with offensive pop, and Colorado’s expected to send out Scott Wedgewood here, who at the end of the day still is Colorado’s backup goaltender. On the other side, I have the Los Angeles Kings as a major candidate for regression in goal this season, and I think we’re going to get some goals here to kick off the season. Give me the over here.
