Los Angeles Kings vs St. Louis Blues NHL Picks, Odds, Predictions 11/3/2021

The St. Louis Blues and the Los Angeles Kings meet in NHL action from Staples Center on Wednesday night.

The St. Louis Blues will look to build on their 1-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in their last game. David Perron leads the Blues with 9 points including a team-high 6 goals, 5 power play points and 3 power play goals while Jordan Kyrou and Vladimir Tarasenko each have 9 points as well with Kyrou adding a team-high 7 assists and Tarasenko chipping in 4 goals and 5 helpers. Ivan Barbashev also has a team-best +7 plus/minus rating as well this season. Jordan Binnington has made the bulk of the starts in goal for St. Louis, going 5-1 with a 2.52 GAA and a .926 save percentage this season.

The Los Angeles Kings will look to add to back-to-back wins after a 3-2 win over Buffalo in their last game. Anze Kopitar leads the Kings across the board with 13 points, 6 goals and 7 assists while Alex Iafallo has 8 points with 4 goals and 4 assists. Drew Doughty also has 7 points with 6 assists of his own and Tobias Bjornjot has a team-best +3 plus/minus rating this season. Jonathan Quick’s made 5 appearances in goal for the Kings, going 1-3-1 with a 2.60 GAA and a .908 save percentage while Cal Petersen is 2-2 with a 3.28 GAA and an .895 save percentage this season.

St. Louis is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall and 5-2 in their last 7 games against the Pacific division while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 Wednesday games. Los Angeles is 3-11 in their last 14 games overall and 6-13 in their last 19 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games as a home underdog.

I get the case that could be made for the over here as both teams can find the back of the net more often than not, but the bottom line here is that I think the Kings will have trouble breaking down the St. Louis defense and the Blues normally pot 3 or 4 and sit on the lead. I think no matter which way you slice it, we’re not getting more than 5 goals here. Give me the under.
