Oilers vs Stars Prediction 5/25/25 NHL Picks Today

In this article we will formulate an Oilers vs Stars prediction for this NHL game on Sunday, May 25th at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup in the Western Conference Finals.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Preview

The Edmonton Oilers tied the series at one with a 3-0 win in game two on Friday night. Edmonton scored once in the first period and they added two in the second to seal the victory. The Oilers recorded 25 shots on goal, won 40.4% of the face-offs, and went 1-5 on the power play in the game. Edmonton got goals from Brown, Nugent-Hopkins, and Kulak, while Skinner stopped all 25 shots that he saw in the shutout win.

Prior to this series, the Oilers defeated the Golden Knights in five games in the second round and the Kings in six games in the first round. Edmonton had plenty of trouble in the first 2.5 games against Los Angeles in the first round, but they have won nine of their last eleven games. Edmonton has scored 3.16 goals per game and they have allowed 2.87 goals against per game, while also going 23.7% on the power play and 78.2% on the penalty kill this season. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have led Edmonton with 20 points, while Evan Bouchard has added 15 points in the playoffs. Stuart Skinner is 3-4 with a 2.90 goals against average and an .890 save percentage in the postseason.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars were able to get a win in game one of this series by a score of 6-3, but they were shutout in game two to even the series. In their game two loss, Dallas allowed a goal in the first six minutes of the game and they never recovered, as they weren’t able to find the back of the net. The Stars recorded 25 shots on goal, won 59.6% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Dallas was led by Granlund, Hintz, Johnston, and Harley, who all had three shots on goal, while Granlund led the team with seven hits. Jake Oettinger stopped 22 out of 25 shots in the loss, which was an .880 save percentage.

Prior to this series, the Stars defeated the Jets in six games in the second round and the Avalanche in seven games in the first round. Dallas was able to erase a two goal deficit in game seven against Colorado and they got great goaltending against Winnipeg to move on. Dallas has scored 3.35 goals per game and they have allowed 2.71 goals against per game, while also going 22% on the power play and 82% on the penalty kill this season. Mikko Rantanen has led Dallas with nine goals, 11 assists, and 43 shots on goal, while Harley and Hintz both have 11 points in the postseason. Jake Oettinger is 9-6 with a 2.54 goals against average and a .915 save percentage in the playoffs.

Oilers vs Stars Prediction

Edmonton was able to get a huge win in game two of this series and they have been the better team for five of the six periods to start this series. The Oilers were in control of game one, but they collapsed in the third for the loss. Edmonton has been great on home ice all season long and they have allowed zero goals in three of their last four games overall. I expect a better effort from Dallas in this game, but this Edmonton offense is going to be too much on home ice. Take the Oilers to win.
