The Winnipeg Jets and the Philadelphia Flyers meet in NHL action from the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.
The Winnipeg Jets will look to build on their 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues last time out. Kyle Connor has 44 points with 20 assists and 24 goals to lead the Jets while Pierre-Luc Dubois has 32 points with 18 goals and 14 assists. Andrew Copp has 28 points with 16 assists while Blake Wheeler has 18 assists and Brenden Dillon leads the Jets with a +12 plus/minus rating this season. Connor Hellebuyck’s seen the bulk of the action this season in goal for Winnipeg, going 14-14-6 with a 2.93 GAA and a .909 save percentage this season.
The Philadelphia Flyers will try to add to their 4-3 win in OT over the Kings to snap their 13-game losing streak. Claude Giroux leads the Flyers in scoring with 15 goals and a team-high 20 assists as part of his 35-point tally this season. Cam Atkinson has a team-high 17 goals and 35 points of his own and Joel Farabee has 11 goals of his own this season. Carter Hart’s gone 8-14-5 with a 2.87 GAA and a .911 save percentage in goal for the Flyers while Martin Jones has gone 6-8-2 with a 3.56 GAA and a .901 save percentage this season.
Winnipeg is 1-6 in their last 7 games overall and 1-4 in their last 5 road games while the over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games following a win. Philadelphia is 1-6 in their last 7 home games and 1-7 in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record.
I get why you’d look at the road team here in most spots, but the Jets had lost six straight before a rare win over St. Louis and the Jets haven’t been good on the road pretty much all year long. Philadelphia finally snapped their losing skid, and we’re at a point where the Flyers will be sellers, but I think the players step it up in an effort to be traded to a contender in the event that they end up getting shipped. It’s a bit cynical to think, but it makes sense and getting plus money at that as well just adds to it. Give me the Flyers and the plus money here.
