Detroit Red Wings Betting Preview

The Detroit Red Wings are 12-7-1 this season after they defeated Seattle by a score of 4-2 in their last game. Detroit got goals from Danielson, Finnie, Larkin, and Raymond, while Talbot stopped 20 out of 22 shots, which was a .909 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Detroit defeated the Rangers by a score of 2-1, but lost to the Sabres by a score of 5-4 before that. The Red Wings have won three of their last four games and they are currently first in the Atlantic standings with 25 points. Detroit has scored 3.00 goals per game and they have allowed 3.10 goals against per game, while also going 21.7% on the power play and 80.4% on the penalty kill this season. The projected starting goalie for Detroit is John Gibson, who is 4-5-1 with a 3.32 goals against average and an .875 save percentage this season.

New York Islanders Betting Preview

The New York Islanders are 11-7-2 this year after they defeated Dallas by a score of 3-2 in their last game. New York led 3-1 in the third period, but they did allow a late goal, before hanging on for the win. Red Wings vs Islanders Prediction

Both of these teams come into this matchup playing very well in recent games, so this should be a great game to watch. The Red Wings are 7-3-1 at home this year, while the Islanders are 7-4-1 on the road. New York has gone to overtime in three of their last five games and they have allowed two goals in three of their last five as well. Detroit has won three of their last four, but they have scored 16 goals in those four games. I would much rather see Talbot start in net for Detroit, but since it is Gibson, I think we have to go with the Islanders here.
